Stochasticactus

recovery, wilderness, and other adventures

Launching new things

Well, the old Word Press blog, stochasticactus, had its hosting suspended due to some kind of spam attack and so on. I didn’t really miss it for a long time, mostly because I’ve been so busy. But recently I’ve been wanting to write more of a journal type thing, and decided to fire up “stochasticactus 2,” a.k.a, “stochasticcactus.com” Note the extra c. I wish I had been able to rescue the old domain name as is, but I couldn’t transfer it.

Looking at a very minimal design for the moment. Testing out what photographs looks like.

hmm, looking pretty good. The above is Echinocereus davisii in flower on the right of way along highway 395 in the Big Bend region of Texas. The trouble started when I jumped the fence, but that’s a story for another time.

A peaceful view of the creek in Madera Canyon in southern AZ, from one of the times that Sig O and I did a getaway there. I have been reflecting a bit on peace of mind, serenity, and the tools of recovery, since life has been stressful and I haven’t really been focused on tools for managing that so much. I started meditating again recently, nothing fancy, just sitting meditation, breathing in, know you are breathing in, breathing out, know you are breathing out, and it’s always a great practice (probably why I end up skipping it).

Anyway, this seems like a super user friendly layout and user interface, so maybe I’ll just leave well enough alone.
